Craig Down is a Partner in HWL Ebsworth’s National Insurance Group.  He takes a diligent and forensic approach to his insurance law practice which keeps the needs of his clients firmly in sight at all times.

Responsive and personable, he brings the insight of many years experience across a broad range of legal work for insurers and self insured clients ranging from shopping centre owners/managers, construction companies, sporting organisations and public authorities to real estate agents, farmers, security companies and building surveyors.

Craig’s "front-end" experience includes determining indemnity issues arising out of insurance policies and examining insurance clauses in contracts.

• Defence of professional indemnity actions brought against insurance brokers, building surveyors, real estate agents and pest inspectors;
• Defence of total and permanent disablement, death and salary continuance claims made under policies of life insurance;
• Defence and recovery actions on behalf of motor vehicle insurers;
• Interpretation of insurance policies to determine indemnity issues;
• General debt recovery work;
• Recovery actions on behalf of general insurers in respect of fire claims;
